Who Is Jesus to You? The Healing Shift That Changes Everything
There is a powerful turning point in healing.
It’s the moment we stop asking, “Who hurt me?”
And begin asking, “Who is Jesus to me?”
Both questions matter — but only one transforms you.
When we stay focused on who hurt us, we remain anchored to pain. Our nervous system stays alert. We protect. We perform. We brace. We try to be strong enough, good enough, spiritual enough.
But healing deepens when we shift our gaze.
Who is Jesus to you?
Is He distant?
Disappointed?
Watching with folded arms?
Or is He compassionate… gentle… faithful?
Scripture tells us in Hebrews (chatgpt://generic-entity?number=0) 3:6 that Christ is faithful over God’s house. And in Matthew (chatgpt://generic-entity?number=1) 11:29, Jesus describes Himself as gentle and humble in heart.
If we see Him incorrectly, we heal incorrectly.
If we believe He is harsh, we will continue striving.
If we believe He is disappointed, we will keep performing.
If we believe He is distant, we will keep guarding.
But when we truly know His character — gentle, present, faithful — we stop rebuilding from fear.
We rebuild from security.
We stop asking, “How do I protect myself?”
And begin asking, “How do I trust Him here?”
Healing isn’t just about processing pain.
It’s about knowing the One who holds you in it.
And when Jesus becomes safe in your heart, you no longer have to be your own savior.
