Jesus Buried in Joseph’s Tomb

After Jesus died on the cross, a man named Joseph of Arimathea, a respected member of the council and a secret follower of Jesus, asked Pilate for permission to bury Him. Joseph wrapped Jesus’ body in a clean linen cloth and laid Him in his own new tomb, carved out of rock (Matthew 27:57–60).

This moment fulfilled prophecy and reminded us that even in death, Jesus was honored and cared for. Joseph’s boldness shows how one act of courage can play a powerful role in God’s plan. The borrowed tomb became the scene of the greatest miracle—Jesus’ resurrection.

Reflection:

Joseph gave Jesus a resting place, but Jesus didn’t stay there. The tomb was borrowed because it was only temporary. Whatever “tombs” we find ourselves in—seasons of waiting, grief, or silence—are also temporary. Resurrection is coming.
