Why Does God Allow Suffering? Finding Hope in Brokenness
Suffering is one of the hardest faith questions we wrestle with.
If God is good, why does He allow pain — betrayal, illness, loss, heartbreak?
From the very beginning in Book of Genesis (chatgpt://generic-entity?number=0) 3, we see that we live in a fallen world. God created humanity with free will. Love requires choice — and with choice came sin. Sin brought brokenness into the world.
But here is the anchor:
God does not waste suffering.
In Epistle to the Romans we’re reminded that God works all things together for good for those who love Him. That doesn’t mean all things are good — but He can redeem what was meant to harm you.
Look at Book of Job. Job suffered deeply, yet his story shows us that God’s presence never left him. Pain is not proof of God’s absence.
Sometimes suffering:
• Refines our faith
• Reveals hidden strength
• Repositions us for purpose
• Deepens our compassion
Brokenness is not the end of your story. It may be the beginning of transformation.
