"When I am afraid, I put my trust in you."

— Psalm 56:3

Notice what it does NOT say. 🛑

It does not say WHEN I have it all figured out.

It does not say WHEN the fear is gone.

It does not say WHEN I finally feel strong enough.

It says WHEN I AM AFRAID.

Fear is assumed. Fear is expected. Fear is part of the journey.

And right in the middle of it — trust is a choice. 🙏

Here is your lesson for this week 👇

📖 PSALM 56:3 — 3 THINGS TO REMEMBER

1️⃣ FAITH IS NOT THE ABSENCE OF FEAR.

David was running for his life when he wrote this psalm. He was not sitting in a quiet place feeling peaceful. He was afraid. And he chose trust anyway. Faith was never the absence of fear — it is what you do with the fear when it shows up.

2️⃣ THE WORD "WHEN" CHANGES EVERYTHING.

Not IF I am afraid. WHEN. God is not surprised by your fear. He is not disappointed that you are struggling. He already knew this moment was coming — and He already prepared a place for you to land. His name.

3️⃣ TRUST IS AN ACTION, NOT A FEELING.

You do not have to feel trusting to choose trust. You do not have to feel calm to say out loud — God I do not understand this but I choose You anyway. That declaration — made in the middle of the storm — is one of the most powerful things a human being can do.

This week — every time fear shows up, speak this verse out loud.

Not to make the fear disappear.

But to remind yourself where you stand. 🙏
